The prompt for the second week of this challenge:

Flip through your deck, and find your favorite animal.

Write about it.

Anything at all.

I knew which card I’d pick for this as soon as I saw the prompt 🙂 This is the Ace of Leaves (Swords) from my mini Fairy Tarot deck, with a hedgehog on it. Hedgehogs are the best animals, and anyone who knows me knows I’m absolutely nuts about them 😀

So why is there a hedgehog in this card? From the itty bitty booklet I got two keywords: Victory and Power. Now, my Latin is a bit rusty and Google is of no help, but the banner says something about money (a coin/penny) and influence… wish I knew the exact meaning! (I’m going to get the companion book for this deck soon, and maybe that will tell me more, but this will have to do for now…)

You can see he’s got the leaves stuck on his spikes, like he’s saving them for later or something… hoarding his treasures 🙂

I’m not exactly sure why I love hedgehogs so much, but it must have something to do with their prickliness, being all huffy and not very social… I guess I can relate 😛 I’ve always liked them, I’ve always liked all kinds of animals, but the real obsession started when I got my most precious plushie for Christmas – Bollan. Maybe you’ve seen her? She’s all over my various social media, and she even has her own blog and Facebook page and stuff 🙂

Anyway, hedgehogs are precious cinnamon rolls and must be protected. Also they should be in tarot decks more often, the more the merrier 😀
