Deck of the day: Fairy Lenormand

By Markus Katz and Tali Goodwin (art by Davide Corsi)

Publisher: Lo Scarabeo (2015)

Type: Lenormand (36 cards, no extras)

Size: too big (ca 12.5 x 9 cm)

Comes in a two-part box with a guidebook. Both the cards and the book fit snugly in the box, so there’s not much rattling around.

Guidebook: 128 pages, but it’s in five languages (English, Italian, Spanish, French and German), so there’s less info than you’d think. The English gets the most, though, with more than 60 pages. The other languages get 15 or something. First there’s an introduction, then a little on how to combine cards, a nine-card spread, a 36-card spread called the “master method”, and then the grand tableau. The card meanings are given as a list with a few keywords per card, and then you get a section on the houses, where each card gets one page. There’s a keyword, a paragraph of text, and a black and white image of part of the card.

Note: I will do a more personal review of the deck later, because I have opinions…
