Publisher: Lo Scarabeo (2004)
Type: Tarot (78 cards, Justice is 8, Strength is 11)
Suits: Wands, Swords, Pentacles, Chalices
Court cards: Knave, Knight, Queen, King
Size: 12 x 6.6 cm
Comes in a tuck box, with a booklet in multiple languages. In the booklet, the suits have their traditional “realms” (wands = desires, swords = the mind, etc), but when you look at the card images, the elements seem to be switched in an unusual (perhaps random?) way. Swords have watery patterns and fish in them, Wands aren’t particularly firey (except for one or two cards), and Cups have a lot of butterflies. Pentacles is the only suit which definitely looks earthy, as it’s supposed to. The booklet doesn’t mention this switch at all. An earlier edition of this deck had a different card back, a blue and white pattern with a peacock.
On Amazon.com it seems to be almost out of stock (for good?), but Bookdepository still has the deck 🙂
